Let’s Talk About Death

Death is often a taboo subject in our modern Western world. Though dying is an accepted, and ritualized, part of life in many other cultures, talk about grief or death at a dinner party in the US is likely to lead to a very quiet meal! The isolation that many grieving people experience after the loss of someone they love is amplified by our cultural inability to encourage open conversations about death and dying. Since every human being is guaranteed at least one personal experience with death, why not talk about it?

Using humor, the ‘superpowers’ she developed as a young widow, and a willingness to discuss all things death and dying…Michele provides her audience with a widowed person’s view of life on the other side of the grief curtain. She will talk about the Do’s and Don’ts of speaking to a grieving person, provide practical tips on ways you can help a grieving friend or family member, and answer any question you can come up with about using wit, humor, and a refreshingly candid style that will leave your group inspired and informed. You will be surprised at how refreshing talking about death can be!
